Slide pipe consort
This slide pipe consort was developed for the piece „XZY“ by Jasper Vanpaemel, premiered at the Concertgebouw in 2019.
The longest pipe plays down to the low violoncello C and has a range of a tenth. The shortest plays an octave higher.
The slide pipes are built using a mix between custom-made 3D-printed parts and easy-to-find hardware store pieces in order to save costs. This is an efficient practice: the best resuts are usually obtained by using together the best elements and properties both from 3D-printing and traditionally-made elements.
